The CAN Magnetometer Interface adds a high-precision electronic compass to all XCVario systems revision 22 and further via the S2 CAN bus.
The robust 1 MBit/s automotive-grade CAN bus supports cable lengths of up to 15 meters, making it ideal for larger gliders and tandem installations. The integrated 3-axis magnetic sensor features a 16-bit low-noise ADC with automatic offset management and temperature compensation, providing a typical heading accuracy of 1–2°.
Features
- CAN bus interface for XCVario 2022
- 1 MBit/s CAN communication
- Frees the S2 RS232 interface
- Up to 15 m cable length
- High-precision 3-axis magnetometer
- 16-bit ADC with temperature compensation
- Typical heading accuracy: 1–2°
