The housing is made entirely of black anodized aluminum for effective shielding of EMV emissions for quiet transmission, is only 35 mm high, designed as a standard 5.7-inch display and can be supplied directly with 12V from the on board electrical system. The power consumption is around 4 watts (300 mA at 12.8V) with , briefly around 15% higher when zooming under processor load.
The device comes with Android 11 incl. Play Store, android apps available in play store can be directly installed from there. Supported wireless interfaces are Wifi (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth (BT4.0), and to connect avionic hardware with serial connection only, there are as well three IGC compatible serial interfaces (1xDTE, 2xDCE) configurable for all baud rates supported by XCSoar.
Four multichannel USB-A type 2.0 ports on the back plus one LAN port offers further connectivity e.g. for remote sticks. There is another USB-A type 3.0 port plus one USB-C port on the lower side. USB Devices can be powered from the USB-A ports, a maximum of 1A current can be drawn from there (5W), and a slot for a micro SD memory card with a maximum capacity of 32G, which can be added as storage expansion, and a 3.5 mm jack socket for headphones. A stereo power amplifier features 3 watts power, accessible via two 3.5 mm mono jack sockets on the rear. A view of the rear with the connection boards see gallery, beside the Audio jacks, there is the DC jack, a cable that fits to there is part of the delivery. A barely perceptible fan ensures pleasant temperatures for the CPU core even on the hottest days, this is probably not necessary in Nordic regions, the fan can then be unplugged internally.
The CPU board has 32 GB Flash memory, 2 GB Ram, a power-efficient 1.8 Ghz Quad-Core CPU, a micro SD memory card can be added. The display with 640 x 480 has almost 1650 nits (very bright) and thanks to IPS technology a very good contrast for good sunlight readability, has an anti-glare coating and is equally easy to read from almost all angles, including flat angles. The display is designed as a multipoint touchscreen and is therefore easy to use for complex inputs such as pre-flight planning and setup.
XCSoar is pre-installed and should start automatically, our navigation system has significantly more performance and user-friendliness than other system available in the market and is standard provided with 2 mounting holes for a 1 ball mount.

Die Leistungsaufnahme liegt bei rund 4 Watt (300 mA bei 12,8 V), kurzzeitig rund 15 % höher beim Zoomen unter Prozessorlast.
Das Gerät kommt mit Android 11 inkl. Play Store, im Play Store verfügbare Android-Apps können direkt von dort installiert werden. Unterstützte drahtlose Schnittstellen sind WLAN (802.11b/g/n) und Bluetooth (BT4.0), und um Avionik-Hardware nur mit serieller Verbindung anzuschließen, gibt es auch drei IGC-kompatible serielle Schnittstellen (1x DTE, 2x DCE), die für alle von XCSoar unterstützten Baudraten konfigurierbar sind. An der Unter-Seite befindet sich ein weiterer USB-A Type 3.0-Port sowie ein USB-C Port. USB-Geräte können von den USB-A Ports mit Strom versorgt werden, maximal 1A Strom kann von dort entnommen werden (5W), ein zusätzlicher DC Stecker, sowie ein Slot für eine Micro-SD-Speicherkarte mit einer Kapazität von maximal 32G, die als Speichererweiterung hinzugefügt werden kann, und eine 3.5 mm Klinkenbuchse für einen Kopfhörer. Eine Stereo-Endstufe mit 3 Watt Leistung ist über zwei 3,5-mm-Mono-Klinkenbuchsen auf der Rückseite zugänglich. Ein Blick auf die Rückseite mit den Anschluss Platinen siehe Galerie, neben den Audio Buchsen befindet sich die DC-Buchse, ein passendes Kabel dazu gehört zum Lieferumfang. Ein kaum wahrnehmbarer Lüfter sorgt auch an den heißesten Tagen für angenehme Temperaturen für den CPU-Kern, in nordischen Regionen ist dies wohl nicht nötig, der Lüfter kann dann intern abgesteckt werden.
Das CPU-Board verfügt über 16 GB Flash-Speicher, 2 GB Ram, eine stromsparende 1,8-GHz-Quad-Core-CPU. Das Display mit 640 x 480 hat knapp 1550 nits (sehr hell) und dank IPS-Technologie einen sehr guten Kontrast für gute Lesbarkeit bei Sonnenlicht, ist entspiegelt und aus fast allen Winkeln, auch aus flachen Winkeln, gleichermaßen gut ablesbar. Das Display ist als Multipoint-Touchscreen konzipiert und lässt sich daher für komplexe Eingaben wie Preflight-Planung und Setup einfach bedienen.
XCSoar ist vorinstalliert und sollte automatisch starten, unser Navigationssystem hat deutlich mehr Leistung und Benutzerfreundlichkeit als andere auf dem Markt erhältliche Systeme.
